Kennel Ringmaster
History
CH Apports Donovan
The first golden retriever at Ringmaster was Apports Donovan in 1966. He was true dual-purpose – well built and a competent gundog. He was SwCh which is the equivalent of a full British champion. We still try to breed goldens like Donovan - not only goodlooking but also workmanlike.
Apports Airy was our first bitch and with Donovan she had Ringmaster Darling. Darling was mated to NUCh Deremar Donald and we kept Delight and she got a son by NUCh Mjaerumhögdas Magic Man and he became a prominent studdog. His name was SUCh Ringmaster Viscount W and he was a real allrounder like Donovan.
In 1975 we got our first golden from Mrs Sawtell, Kennel of Yeo and this was the start of a period when Ringmaster golden were very much improved by a number of imports from of Yeo.
The first to cross the North Sea was SUCh Enterprise of Yeo, a wonderful bitch to breed from, a star in the show-ring and very able in the field. She is also the mother of SUCh Ringmaster Pretty that in her turn got a prominent daughter - SUCh Ringmaster Triplet Beauty.
SwCH Ringmaster Triplet Beauty
Checkpoint of Yeo was next. He is the studdog that has been of most importance to Ringmaster. He sired beautiful gundogs out of various bitches - for instance FTCh Ringmaster Summerday.
I must also mention Goldfinder of Yeo. He was a very well built dog that actually had a career in England as well as in Sweden. He was three and a half years old when he came to Ringmaster.
Another dog of great importance to Ringmaster came from Finland: Royal Ringmaster of Woodhill.
Younger generations of Ringmaster goldens are the result of combinations of the dogs and lines mentioned above.
